Aubameyang insist on staying in Barcelona

By Oviri Kelvin, Sports Editor

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has continued to avoid Chelsea’s advances insisting that he wants to remain in Camp Nou and fight for his place.

The Barcelona attacker, who forced a move from Arsenal to Camp Nou in January, is not bothered by the option of becoming second fiddle to Robert Lewandowski under coach Xavi Hernadez.

On the other note, Chelsea are in dire need of a proven centre forward having loaned Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan for a season and would want Aubameyang at all cost to fill the void.

With two Premier League games already played by the Blues, it is not over-emphasised that Thomas Tuchel’s final need is a top finisher.

Having spotted the deficiency, Chelsea have made contacts with Barcelona for Aubameyang but a report reveals that the player is not interested in a move to the Premier League and has informed Tuchel about his decision.

Despite his refusal to heed Chelsea’s call, the west London club have guaranteed him better wages while handing him a regular starting role.

Aside from the above offer, Chelsea are prepared to offer him a three or four years deal to bolster their attack, knowing fully well that Tuchel’s squad is deficient in that position.

Barcelona, on their part, are ready to cash in on the deal and would welcome Chelsea’s offer having been denied Manchester United’s €80 million offer for Frenkie de Jong.
