Armed Robbers Attack POS Shops in Lagos

Dare-devil armed robbers have changed tactics in Lagos, as they now rob Point of sales (POS), operators across the state metropolis.

The ugly development has forced many operators to close shop. The new Commissioner of Police (CP), Abiodun Alabi, is not relenting in his effort to battle criminals in the State, as he had ordered the State Police Command Strike
Force to intensify raids of black spots in the State metropolis.

One POS shop operator, Mr Benson Oke, who shared his experience with The Trumpet, said he was shocked when he came to meet his Shop bugled by criminals.

According to him, all the money customers deposited late in the evening was stolen, including three Laptops. Three other operators’ shops were robbed at daytime in Mushin area within the week.

There are other reports of attack on POS shops in other parts of Lagos, based on complainants lodged in Police
Stations within the State. With the strong security arrangement in the banks, armed gangs now shift their operations to Point Of Sale shops.
