APC chieftain dumps party, adopts  ex PDP Legal Adviser for senate in A’ Ibom

A former chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akwa Ibom State, Chief Enibehe Okorie has defected to the People Democratic Party (PDP) and immediately endorsed former Legal Adviser of PDP Barr. Emmanuel Enoidem for Senate in the 2023 general election The Trumpet gathered.

Speaking on Wednesday in Uyo during his pre defection meeting with an enlarged meeting of the PDP  State Working Committee , led by its chairman, Mr Aniekan Akpan, Okorie, said he was going to add value to the party in the state.

According to him “I am delighted to come before you having returned to the PDP, I have done the right thing by returning to the PDP. I want to commend all of you for the wonderful work you have been doing in the party, because if you people have not handled the party well, I wouldn’t have come in.

“I don’t know how you have organised the party, but i want to give credit to the governor, Udom Emmanuel, for putting in place, a very hard-working SWC, headed by brother, Mr. Aniekan Akpan.   I have great honour and dignity for this SWC. I am back to bring to bear the little i can offer for the success of the party in the state”

While commending the unity and cohesion within the PDP family,  Okorie noted that such values would place the party in good stead to win the upcoming polls across all competitions in the state.

The business tycoon, commended Governor  Udom Emmanuel for uniting the party and  building effective structures from the wards chapters to the state level and pledged to join hand in the building process.

The State Chairman of the party , Aniekan Akpan, expressed delights at the return of Okorie, saying “the PDP is the only party with one house in Akwa Ibom state.”

Akpan said, the PDP remained  the only party to beat , adding that the APC from the information he had  received , had two Secretariat offices in the state and might  likely have up to three before the week ran out.

The State PDP chairman said he would continue to welcome other members of the party who defected to the APC and had seen reasons to return, adding that the Umbrella was large enough to contain all of them.
