Amaechi’s Transformation in Transport Sector is Extraordinary Legacy – Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has described the rail transformation ongoing at the Ministry of Transportation as a rare and extraordinary legacy of his administration.
Buhari said this in a statement by his Senior Special Assistant (Media and Publicity), Garba Shehu on Friday while sending a congratulatory message to the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi on his conferment of a chieftaincy title by the Daura Emirate Council.
On Saturday, Amaechi will be honoured as the “Dan Amana” (the trusted one) of Daura alongside a business mogul, Nasiru Haladu Dani, who will be receiving the title of Tafida Babba of Daura.
While sending his congratulatory message, Buhari commended Amaechi for working tirelessly to make the change mantra a reality for Nigerians, nothing that “the change we are witnessing in the transport sector is an extraordinary legacy.”
President Buhari, who delegated Ministers of Water Resources, Engineer Sulaiman Adamu, Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika and the Senior Special Assistant (Media and Publicity) Garba Shehu to represent him during the event in Daura, described the conferment of the title of “Dan Amana,” (the trusted one) to Amaechi as a clear commitment to the harmonious relationship between the nation’s diverse cultures.

The rail sector of the Ministry of Transportation under the watch of Rotimi Amaechi, has received serious attention from the Buhari administration. This has led to tremendous boost and boom in rail development and transportation across the country. Although Nigerians are yearning for modern trains befitting of the technological era, however, a shift from the heavy dependent on road transportation has taken off in earnest.
