Plans by the Adamawa State Government to breathe life into the state-owned moribund fertilizer blending plant have no doubt been concluded.
This was observed yesterday when a whopping sum of N830 million was approved by the state government for the immediate revitalization of the company.
Parts of the approved money, as gathered by The Trumpet, will as well be expanded on the drainage projects located in Shuwa, Uba and Gulak towns which are located at Hong and Madagali councils.
The decision to approve such amounts was observed to have been arrived at during the state executive council meeting which was presided over by the number one citizen of the state, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.
Briefing media practitioners shortly after the meeting, the State Commissioner of Information and Strategy, Dr Umar Garba Pella, said the approval covers the revitalization of the dilapidated state fertilizer blending plants at Damare in Girei Local Government Area of the State.
Putting the amount to be gulp by the project at over 264 million, parts of the approved amount, as made known by him, will also be channelled to the construction of storm-water drainage systems in Gulak, Shuwa, and Uba towns in Madagali and Hong Local Government Areas, respectively.

The breakdown, as revealed by The Trumpet findings, indicates that the work for Gulak is 1.3km by 1.5 metres at N366m, the work for Shuwa is 1.3km by 2 by 1 metre at N216m, and the project for Uba is 0.07km by 2.1 by 1.5 metres at a cost of N248.
The projects, which according to him, have been awarded to Messrs Triacta Nigeria Limited, will be executed in earnest to enable the government to mitigate the effects of ecological situations such as perennial flooding, which has on several occasions caused damages across the nooks and crannies of the state.
On the revitalization of the fertilizer plant, the project, as stated by Pella, was awarded to two companies that will work on the revitalization and upgrade of structures, as well as the fabrication and installation of machines.
The council’s decision, he said, was made in consideration of the State’s annual problem of accessing fertilizer for farming, adding that, when the work is finally completed, the plant will have a production capacity of 30 metric tons of the product per hour.
Aside from the aforementioned approval, the council was also noticed to have as well approved over N237 million as a variation for the work on two township roads in Yola South Local Government Council.
He was observed to have tied the approval for the variation to the apron string of the high cost of materials and an expansion in the scope of work.
