Church founder nabbed by for alleged fraud

Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested Kelechi Anozie, a suspect on the watch list of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). He is the founder of Praying City Church in Owerri, Imo State.

The suspect was arrested on March 10, 2022, along with four others following credible intelligence linking him to alleged conspiracy, wire fraud, and money laundering, The Trumpet gathered.

The suspects allegedly defrauded a citizen of the United States. EFCC spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren on Thursday, said that “Anozie and four other suspects: Valentine Iro, Ekene Ekechukwu (alias Ogedi Power), Bright Azubuike (alias Bright Bauer Azubuike) and Ifeanyi Junior, are alleged to have defrauded one US citizen who lives in Illinois, United States, the sum of $135,800 US Dollars and another $47,000.”

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is a Nigerian law enforcement agency that investigates financial crimes and money laundering.
