Abia Warriors contained at Umuahia Township Stadium

Akwa United held Abia Warriors to a goalless draw on MatchDay 17 of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) at the Umuahia Township Stadium on Sunday.

Abia Warriors 16th on the NPFL table were expected to capitalise on its home advantage to edge the Promise Keepers from Uyo, surprisingly, were neutralised by the visitors to parry the game to a draw.

The game between the teams brought the number of draws in their last five outings to three.

Continuing this season’s campaign, Kennedy Boboye’s men have been able to muster 10 points from 15 points in their last five matches with this inclusive.

However, Abia Warriors despite failing to record maximum points against Akwa United will hope to insight a resurgence in their next game to prevent falling into red zone when they visit Aper Aku Stadium to take on Lobi Stars that are a point ahead of the them.
