World Cup playoff: Super Eagles name 32-man provisions list

The Nigeria Super Eagles’ technical committee has released a 32-man provisional list ahead of the two-legged World Cup qualifiers against the Black Stars of Ghana.
With five slots allocated to Africa for the World Cup, Nigeria is eager to meander its way to represent the continent in the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
The Super Eagles technical adviser and his assistant, Augustine Eguavoen and Emmanuel Amuneke respectively, have included Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen, Glasgow Rangers defender, Leon Balogun, Leicester midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi, and Al-Hilal striker, Odion Jude among the list.

Also included is captain Ahmed Musa, Leicester forward, Kelechi Iheanacho, Goalkeeper Maduka Okoye, and Union Berlin striker, Taiwo Awoniyi who is on the standby list.
Eguavoen also included some newbies, Ademola Lookman who recently switch international allegiance from England after being cleared by FIFA, and Akinkunmi Amoo, who represented Nigeria in the FIFA U17 World Cup.
The second leg of the playoff at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja on Match 29, determines the Super Eagles’ chances of proceeding to Qatar to represent Nigeria on the world stage of the football contest.
