Buhari Appoints Echono New TETFUND’s Executive Secretary

President Muhamadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Architect Sunday Echono as the new Executive Secretary of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND).

Echono, who is the immediate past Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Education, Abuja, takes over from Prof. Sulaiman Elias Bogoro, whose five year tenure ends on March 18, 2022.

Director, Press and Public Relations, TETFUND, Ben Bem Goong, in a statement, yesterday, described Echono as an accomplished technocrat.

“Echono brings to the job, diverse wealth of experience spanning Infrastructure, business administration, procurement management, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and the education sectors.

“Prior to his appointment he had served as Permanent Secretary, Federal Min of Education and Member, Board of Trustees of TETfund among other important National assignments,” the statement added.

Congratulating Echono, President, African Development Bank, Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, said his appointment as well deserved and a plus for Nigeria.

He described the appointment as a great recognition of Echono’s professionalism and sterling contributions and service to Nigeria.
