Ahead of the semi-final clash with Egypt, the Al Nassr forward and Cameroon captain, Vincent Aboubakar has said that Mohamed Salah is not as spectacular as portrayed.

Aboubakar, who is the leading goal scorer in the 33rd Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) with 6 goals, noted that the captain of the Pharaohs of Egypt is not in the same class as Kylian Mbappe.

Salah who has only scored two goals in the AFCON is an integral part of the Egypt national team.

According to Aboubakar, Salah who has scored 16 goals for his club, Liverpool, in the Premier League, has the support of a club that has rich football history and a formidable squad.

He added that in all honesty, Salah is good at scoring goals but does not fit as a complete blend of a football prodigy.

Speaking to RFI, a French radio station, Aboubakar said, “He is having a great season in the Premier League.

“He is helping his country to advance in the competition. I wish him a lot of luck; may the best win.

“He doesn’t impress me much. I say it clearly because I’m an honest person and I have my way of seeing things. If he has impressed me, I would say so. But he doesn’t impress me much.

“He’s a good player, he scores a lot but he doesn’t produce a lot of stuff in the game. Of course, he’s doing good stuff in the Premier League because he’s been in a team that’s been there for years.

“He’s a good player but not at the level of some, like Mbappe,” he added.

Salah was very instrumental in Egypt’s 2-1 win in the quarter-final match against Morocco where he scored the equaliser and provided the assist for the second goal scored by Trezeguet.
