Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has said ongoing reconstruction work at the Block B Secretariat Complex will be completed within the next 60 days.
Obaseki gave the assurance after inspecting the reconstruction project of Blocks A and B, along Benin-Sapele Road, Benin City.
The governor said the project is part of the government’s effort at creating a conducive environment for workers to enhance productivity and efficient service delivery to Edo people.
According to him, “I have been assured that by the end of March, 2022, Block B will be fully ready for occupation. We could have started occupying it now, but we want the entire building cleared before we get people to move in.

“By the end of March, which is in another 60 days, it should be ready. I came to see what is happening in the Palm House building, whether it’s still being occupied, and to see how to relocate the ministries here so that we can empty the building.
“This is an iconic building built by the late Gen. Samuel Ogbemudia and we need to restore it and get it to become a functional office space again,” he added.
