Ndigbo in Bayelsa mourns Obiozor

Ohanaeze Ndigbo in Bayelsa State has commemorated with the family of Obizor, people of Imo State and Ndigbo worldwide over the passage of their illustrious son and the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Prof. Amb George Obiozor.

In a statement signed by the Bayelsa state chapter chairman of the Ohanaeze, Mazi Johnson Onuma, he described Obizor as distinguished academician, a prodigious diplomat, an elder statesman and sedulous patriot.

Prof George Obiozor passed on after a brief illness, he was aged 80 years.

According to him the death of the foremost Igbo leader and former Nigeria’s ambassador to the United States and the State of Israel is a big loss to Ohanaeze Ndigbo and Nigeria at large. He said Nigeria and the international communities will greatly miss his Keen intellectual contributions and wise counsel on national and global issues.
