Clergy lifts spirit of less privileged, canvasses votes for PDP

The member, Delta State Advisory and Peace Building Council and Founder of Gods own Revolutionary Church, Rev. Prof. Oke Akokotu has put smiles on the faces of Pastors, PDP ward chairmen, widows and less privileged and Church members across the State.

The empowerment program which commenced on the 18th of December, at the God’s Own Revolutionary Church, Otor – Iyede, Isoko North Local Government Area of the State lasted till 21st of December 2022.

The program featured the presentation of gift items ranging from bags of rice, tubers of yams and Indomie with cash packages presented to the Widows and less privileged and pastors.

Akokotu speaking at the event said that this program started 8 years ago. He said that nomination of beneficiaries were not done by him nor his wife but by the PDP, ICF, IPU and other Leaders of those communities where the programs are scheduled to take place like Otor – Iyede, Urhobo, Agbarha Otor, Ika Land and Aniocha.

He added that he is only obeying the word of God which says give and it shall be given unto you.

He urged the people of Iyede Community and other Communities that benefited from this empowerment program to vote for PDP in the incoming Election if the program must be sustained.

One of the beneficiaries Hon. Anthony Odhibi, PDP Chairman, Iyede Ward 1 expressed his profound gratitude on behalf of PDP and the Iyede Community for the kind gestures of the Clergyman and his wife, and pray God to continue to bless him and his family.

Moreso, the Pastor of God’s Own Revolutionary Church, Otor – Iyede where the empowerment took place appreciated God for using his General Overseer to encourage and put smiles on the faces of the widows, less privileged and the vulnerable.

Present at the empowerment program are; the President of ICF, Bishop Bernard Obukowho, Pastor Grace, Evang. Rosemary Chike, Mr Sunday Okotete, PDP Chairman Iyede Ward 2, Barrister O.J Aluya and Mr Friday Umukoro among others.
