Terrorists kill two, kidnap three passengers in Katsina

At least two passengers have lost their lives while several others sustained injuries when they were attacked by terrorists in Jibia Local Government Area of Katsina State.

The incident which occurred about 9:15 pm on Saturday, happened at the Magama Jibia village when the victims were plying the road in commercial vehicles.

A source said that the terrorists confiscated valuables from the passengers, and also kidnapped three of them before moving them into the forest.

The source said that during the incident, a dispatch of security personnel were dispatched to the scene, thereby forcing the terrorists to retreat into the forest.

The spokesman for the Katsina police Command, SP Gambo Isah confirmed the incident.

According to Isah, “The terrorists waylaid two vehicles along Magamar- Jibia road and shot one of the drivers. They did not enter the town.

“The terrorists were repelled. A body was later found in a nearby bush. Some passengers inside the two vehicles were also not seen and it is believed they might have been taken away by the terrorists.”
