Mané scores as Senegal narrowly secures a win

The Senegal national team on Monday has narrowly secured a win in the match against the Zimbabwe national team.

The highly competitive ‘Group B’ match played in the Kouekong Stadium, Bafoussam ended in a deadlock at halftime.

The Lions from Teranga could not find the back of the net of the resilient Zimbabweans till it got to the additional time where K. W. Madzongwe committed a foul in the six-yard box and a penalty was awarded referee Mario Escobar.

Mane takes the spot-kick

The Liverpool forward, Sadio Mané, struck the spot-kick into the net of the Warriors to secure three points for the Lions of Teranga to kickstart their campaign for the trophy as favourite tipped to win the competition which has twice been postponed due to COVID-19 pandemic.
