Police in Edo State Arrest Suspected Kidnapper, Rescue Four Victims

Operatives of the Edo State Police Command, Ugbowo Division led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), CSP Albert Udeme have arrested a suspected kidnapper known as Over Jamker and rescued four victims.

According to a statement by the Edo State Police’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Kontongs Bello, the police said that it has “received information that hoodlums suspected to be kidnappers have kidnapped one Kelvin Omonedo and Adeleke Wasiu at Olienhen Street and proceeded to Ukhumwem Road in Benin City, where they also kidnapped the duo of Irene Edenabuohen and Rosemary Ojegue.

The Police noted that the kidnappers were engaged in a fierce gun battle but they flee after they were overpowered by the team of Police officers. luck, however, ran against Over Jamker, who is said to be from Ughelli in Delta State and an escapee from the Oko Correctional Center at the heat of the #EndSARS protest in 2020.

“On receipt of the information, police operatives from the division immediately swung into action, trailed and engaged the hoodlums in a gun duel, the superior fire power of the team of operatives made the hoodlums to abandon the four victims and arrested one of the suspects, Over Jamker of Ughelli, Delta State also an escapee from Oko Correctional Center during the end SARS protest of 2020.

“Efforts is ongoing to arrest the fleeing gang members,” Bello said.
