Bayern Munich are set to contend with Chelsea to sign their first centre-back from Juventus in this summer transfer window.

According to reports from Italy, Juventus Matthijs De Ligt has been on the radar of Chelsea for quite some time and are looking to bring the defender to Stamford Bridge as a replacement for Real Madrid’s Antonio Rudiger.

Yesterday, it was reported that Bavarian were considering a move to bring in Sevilla’s Jules Kounde to Allianz Arena, who favours a move to Barcelona or Chelsea but in what seems like a quick turn, the German league giants have turned their focus towards De Ligt. The Trumpet Gathered

Reportedly, Juventus are aware that the Dutch defender wants to leave Turin but will only consent to a deal that is worth their value for the player.

De Ligt is rated at €70m and the Bavarian are not deterred by the monetary value as they look to build on their team that already has the likes of Sadio Mane from Liverpool before the new season kicks off in August.

Recall that De Ligt is one of Chelsea’s preferred options, which has lost Rüdiger and Christensen this summer, and would want the former Ajax player to form a defensive pair with Koundé.

The report further stated that in the next few days, after the meeting with De Ligt’s agents, the Bavarian will make a firm decision to bring De Ligt to Allianz Arena once he concedes to the deal.
