By Adodo Osewengie

The Federal High Court in Abuja has nullified Senator Andy Uba’s participation in the November 6 Anambra State governorship election.

Justice Inyang Ekwo, in a judgement on Monday, held that Uba was never a valid candidate in the election having emerged from an illegally conducted primary election by the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The judge going further held that the plaintiff, George Moghalu, succeeded in proving that the APC did not conduct a valid primary election from which Uba emerged as the party’s candidate.

From the judgement, the Federal High Court also ordered INEC to delete Uba’s name from its record as the APC candidate in the election.

The Judge, therefore, ordered the APC to refund the sum of N22,500,000 spent by Moghalu for the purchase of his expression of interest form.
