Orlando Pirates defender and Nigeria international, Olisa Ndah, has expressed his deepest appreciation to Akwa United and Orlando Pirates fans for their support n the CAF Confederations Cup final in Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo.

Ndah, who joined the South African club last season’s summer after completing two years at Akwa United, in what was more like a reunion, landed Uyo for the CAFCC final against Moroccan RSB Berkane.

The outcome of the game which went sour to deny the two national-capped Super Eagle his first continental club diadem, ended 5-4 on penalties after both teams played a barren full-time draw and recorded 1-1 in extra-time.

The 24-year-old defender after earning 3 caps for the Flying Eagles in the 2019 U23 African Cup of Nations, got his first call up to the Super Eagles in the 2019 AFCON where Nigeria finished third. The Trumpet Gathered

However, notwithstanding the outcome of the CAF Confederations Cup, the Buccaneer took to social media to extend his warm appreciation to both Akwa United and Orlando Pirates for their unwavering support.

“My greatest of thanks goes out to all the Akwa United supporters who came through to the CAFCC Final in Uyo to support my team. It was a pleasure to play the beautiful game at home in front of you all,” Ndah tweeted.

“Playing in Uyo was overwhelming for me and a special thanks to Akwa United Chairman, Paul Bassey.

“My thanks to the faithful Pirates, for their support throughout the season. Come what may, we strive to make you proud,” he added.

The Buccaneers, who would have rejuvenated their season with a first continental CAFCC title win, trail behind six South African clubs in the South African top-flight league on seventh position with 40 points.
