Police trail culprits in burning of magistrates court, LG secretariat

Anambra Police Command has launched a probe into the burning down of the Secretariat of Idemili North Local Government in Ogidi, Anambra State and a Magistrate Court.

Those culpable are also being trailed.

Top Police sources disclosed this to The Trumpet saying that they are working on intelligence reports received overnight following the ugly incident which destroyed properties worth millions.

Spokesperson of the command, Toochukwu Ikenga a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) had earlier confirmed the incident as handwork of unidentified arsonists.

Video and picture footage circulating online showed that the entire buildings were reduced to rubbles, while vehicles parked inside the Local Government secretariat were also burnt to ashes.

While confirming the incident, the State Police Command attributed it to unidentified arsonists.

“Right now, the fire has been put off, and calm has been restored to the area. “

The attack occurred barely three weeks after another local government secretariat was burnt down in the state.
