EFCC launches virtual town hall meetings

Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has launched “EFCC Connect” for virtual town hall meetings to increase engagement with citizens of the country.

This was contained in a statement made available by EFCC spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren, adding that the platform would operate online and shall among other things help to sensitize and educate citizens on the importance of war against economic and financial crimes.

Uwujaren said, “The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, wishes to inform the public that it has launched a virtual town hall meeting called EFCC Connect, to expand its reach and engagement with citizens within and outside the country.

“EFCC Connect, is an online programme designed to engender close interface and collaboration with the Nigerian public, provide answers and clarification to issues, sensitize and educate them on the war against economic and financial crimes using the social media platforms – Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

“This move is in line with one of the objectives of the Commission’s Strategic Plan (2021-2025), to increase the level of public engagements in the ”fight against economic and financial crimes.

‘The public is enjoined to be part of the weekly conversation which will be transmitted live on the official handles of the EFCC @officialEFCC on Twitter at 7pm every Wednesday.”
