2023: S’East PDP G-360 gives Wike 72 hours ultimatum to declare stance

By CHARLES ONYEKWERE,

South East Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), G-360 has given Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State 72 hours ultimatum to declare his stance ahead the 2023 elections.

Wike who recently endorsed Lagos Governor and All progressives Congress (APC) guber candidate, Mr Sanwo Olu has continuously threatened to withdraw his support for the PDP, if the National Chairman Iyorchia Ayu doesn’t resign.

But in a statement issued by the G-360, the group condemned what it termed anti party activities by the Governor.

In the release signed by it’s leader Chief Ben Alukwu, and made available to newsmen in Enugu, the group warned that the South-East which lost the PDP Presidential ticket because of Wike’s antics can no longer tolerate the Rivers State Governor’s hide and seek.

“We have decided that the pampering is enough. It’s time to speak. Time for the party to stamp it’s feet on the ground. We can no longer tolerate Wike’s excesses. And if the party leadership does not take the necessary actions, we may also reconsider our support for the party in the South East.”

Alukwu said the group would meet to decide the next line of action should the Rivers governor fail to make his decision known in three days.

“One man cannot hold the party to ransom, committing anti party with impunity.

“Recently he said he was going to campaign with the award given to him by President Buhari. The question is campaign for who; PDP or APC? If he wants to leave the party he must say so. He has 72 hours to speak.”

The leader of the G-360 disclosed speculations that Wike has plans to join the APC and run for Senate following the recent court pronouncement that cancelled all primaries of the party in Rivers State.
