Spanish forward Marco Asensio mulls a renewal of his contract with Real Madrid beyond 2023.

Asencio, who was at the farewell event of Marcelo on Monday before he went on holiday and would return to training on July 8, is uncertain about a contract extension talks with Madrid.

The player is striving to get the first-team football with Los Blancos having played lesser minutes than 15 players in coach Carlo Ancelotti’s squad, below UEFA Champions League final’s goalscorer, Rodrygo Goes on 14th, and Fede Valverde on 9th.

Recently, the Real Madrid winger said he needs to build his confidence on the pitch from playing consistently for some years adding he could achieve it with Los Blancos.

“I’m looking for consistency, I want it for the next few years because for me that confidence is important,” Asensio said.

“I think it’s possible to have that consistency at Real Madrid,” he added.

Meanwhile, Mirror reports that Manchester United are considering a move for the player whose asking price is pegged at £43m.

The report added that the Red Devils may decide to allay their interest in the player due to the asking price which is considered huge.

Asensio joined Madrid from RCD Mallorca in 2016 and has made 235 appearances netting 49 goals while providing 24 assists in all competitions.

Although the 26-year-old played more in the left-wing for Los Blancos, he has also played in all sectors of the midfield even as a centre-forward.
