NDLEA storm drug joints in Kano, arrest 18

The Kano State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) storm Kano and arrested 18 suspects for various drug related offences in the state metropolis.

The command’s spokesperson, Sadiq Maigatari, told journalists on Friday, that the success was achieved through an intensified operational efforts carried out on January 30 at some notorious drug hotspot at Fagge, Kwarin Kaya, Kofar Wambai, and Kofar Mata.

He explained that during the operation, officers of NDLEA storm the drug joint and were able to recover significant quantities of illicit substances, including cannabis sativa and rubber solution, as well as locally made dangerous weapons.

“The raid at Kwarin Kaya was particularly intense, where some suspects attempted to threaten the officers from a distance. Despite this intimidation, the NDLEA remained resolute in its mission, ensuring the operation proceeded without incident,” Maigatari noted.

He further reaffirmed the commitment of the agency to continue its effort at dismantling drug syndicates and eradicating the prevalence of drug abuse, while assuring also of prosecuting all individuals involved in drug-related crimes in the state.
