Mohammed takes bold steps to combat crime in Bauchi

Governor Bala Mohammed has announced significant strides in employing over 10,000 youths to bolster the fight against criminal activities across the state.

The Governor revealed this strategic move during a gathering at the Bauchi State Government House, where he warmly received numerous vigilante groups.

These groups, representing a collective force against insecurity, took to the major streets of Bauchi metropolis in what they termed an “Operation Show of Force” to counter banditry and abductions.

Led by the State Commandant, Umar Shayi, the vigilante groups expressed gratitude to Governor Bala Mohammed for consistently supporting their efforts and those of other security agents.

The Governor, visibly impressed by the impact of these security volunteers, emphasized that his administration is committed to eliminating hiding places for criminals across all 20 local government areas in the state.

During the visit, Governor Mohammed issued a stern warning to individuals in society who provide crucial information aiding terrorists in carrying out their nefarious acts.

He underscored the importance of deepening stakeholding and adhering to rules of engagement in the fight against insecurity.

The governor was observed to have allocated a substantial cash amount, exceeding N100 million, to the local security operatives, which included political and traditional leaders.

This financial backing, the governor said, is aimed at enhancing their effectiveness in discharging their crucial duties in maintaining peace and security in the state.
