Manchester United has submitted a bid for RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko, with the total deal potentially reaching 85 million euros (£73.8 million).

The proposal includes a guaranteed payment of 75 million euros (£65.2 million).

While United has not yet received a response, they believe this valuation is fair for the 22-year-old Slovenian forward, who is reportedly eager to join Old Trafford.

Newcastle is also interested in Sesko and has made a bid of around 80 million euros (£69.5 million) as they continue discussions with RB Leipzig.

United’s offer is considered significant, especially since there were indications, they wanted to ensure the player was willing to join before solidifying their interest with Leipzig.

To accommodate Sesko, United is prepared to allow Rasmus Hojlund to leave the club.

Sesko has scored 39 goals in 87 appearances for RB Leipzig and, standing at 6 feet 5 inches tall, would add a considerable physical presence to United’s attack.

Sources at United have previously indicated that an agreement for Sesko could be reached, despite Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s earlier comments about the potential financial difficulties the club could face by Christmas without major cost-cutting measures.

The payment structures for deals involving Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo from Wolves and Brentford this summer, totaling £130 million, have been arranged favorably.

Additionally, Marcus Rashford’s £325,000-a-week salary is fully covered by his loan to Barcelona, and Manchester United received £5 million from Chelsea after they withdrew from a deal to sign Jadon Sancho.

United has also earned over £15 million from sell-on clauses related to Anthony Elanga, Alvaro Carreras, and Maxi Oyedele.
