The head of the AMAC Electoral Committee, Mr. Habib Ibrahim, announced the result and encouraged all other candidates to accept the outcome and support Maikalangu moving forward.

This victory establishes Maikalangu as the official representative of the APC for the 2026 general election.

The Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs and the APC leader in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr. Zephaniah Jisalo, congratulated Maikalangu on his success in the primaries.

He also urged those who were not successful in the election to come together and support Maikalangu as the party’s candidate.

Maikalangu made a significant switch in April, moving from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling APC.

When he officially joined the APC, he explained that this decision was made to better connect the AMAC area with the national government and to create more opportunities for local residents.

He highlighted the positive changes that have come since President Bola Tinubu took office and Nyesom Wike was appointed as the FCT Minister, expressing optimism about the future.

“Joining the APC is in the best interest of AMAC residents,” he stated, noting that the area has already benefited from federal jobs given to local people and projects led by the current administration.

Maikalangu expressed his gratitude to the party delegates for their support and called on his fellow candidates to unite with him to work for the benefit of the party and the people of AMAC.
