The 18-year-old has now reached an agreement on the terms of an extension, which will secure his future with the club once finalized.

This decision comes as recognition for his impressive season last year, during which he made 39 appearances across all competitions.

He debuted against Manchester City in September and primarily played as a left-back, despite originally coming up through Arsenal’s academy as a midfielder.

Lewis-Skelly’s strong performances led to his selection for the senior England squad in March, after previously representing the U-16 to U-19 teams.

He scored in a 2-0 victory against Albania at Wembley, making history as the youngest player to score on his full debut for the Three Lions.

His achievements last season also earned him a nomination for the PFA Young Player of the Year award earlier this week, alongside Morgan Rogers, Liam Delap, Dean Huijsen, Milos Kerkez, and Ethan Nwaneri.
