Kano retires court registrar, sacks security guard over N.2m bribe
The Kano State Judicial Service Commission has disciplinary action against two staff, a court registrar and a security guard of the state’s judiciary, for accepting to the tune of N214, 000.

The duo, a court registrar at an Upper Sharia Court, Hudu Idris, was demoted by one grade level and placed on compulsory retirement with immediate effect, while a security guard, Abba Gwarzo’s contract appointment was terminated.

Spokesperson of the judicial service commission, Baba Jibo, said the action was taken following a petition filed by Alhaji Bozo, against the two men.
He said Idris and Gwarzo during interrogation, admitted to receiving the bribe.

In another development, the commission has lifted the suspension of three officials, Bilya Abdullahi, Auwalu Khalil, and Ismaila Garba, due to insufficient evidence regarding an alleged forgery of a court reversal order.

Similarly, Jibo added that the commission has also approved some managerial appointments, including that of Chief Magistrate Hajara Ahmad, as acting chief registrar of the state high court, Musa Umar, as acting deputy chief registrar (administration & general services) of the state high court, and Chief Magistrate Hadiza Bello, appointed as the acting director of the judicial service commission.
