IYC leaders, Niger Delta youths rally support for NDDC’s Ogbuku
Zonal and chapter chairmen of the the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC), in conjunction with the Niger Delta Youth Leadership Forum, staged a solidarity rally on Thursday, rallying support for Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).

The rally, which commenced at Warri Airport, and concluded at the NDDC office in Edjeba, Warri, Delta State, was a demonstration of confidence in Dr. Ogbuku’s leadership, and his commitment to the development of the Niger Delta.

Addressing the gathering, IYC Western Zone Chairman, Comrade Nicholas Igarama, emphasized that Dr. Ogbuku’s tenure has brought tangible progress to the region, citing infrastructure projects, youth empowerment programmes, and road rehabilitation, including the ongoing work on the East-West Road.

Also speaking, Gabriel Tokoni Allen, Speaker of the IYC Mobile Parliament, described Dr. Ogbuku as a transformational leader, urging Niger Deltans to rally behind his administration for sustainable development.

Other leaders, including Comrade Peres Ineife, Chairman of IYC Central Zone, and Comrade Tikima Arigban, Chairman of IYC Lagos chapter, also commended Dr. Ogbuku for repositioning the NDDC to better serve the people, and enhance the region’s socio-economic growth.

The IYC leaders also used the opportunity to reaffirm their support for Dr. Dennis Otuaro, the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), applauding his dedication to the empowerment, and reintegration of ex-agitators.

They described Dr. Otuaro as a critical pillar in maintaining peace and stability in the Niger Delta, calling on stakeholders to stand behind his leadership in ensuring the continued success of the amnesty programme.

The rally ended at the NDDC headquarters in Edjeba, with participants reaffirming their commitment to unity and progress in the Niger Delta.
