Isoko South LG chairman launches free medical outreach in Oleh
The Chairman of Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State, Warri Friday, in collaboration with the Omiwa Foundation has launched a two-day free medical outreach in Oleh, the council’s administrative headquarters.

The free medical outreach is part of activities lined up to commemorate his one year anniversary in office as the council chairman.

The free medical outreach which commenced at the council’s secretariat on Saturday, involves free eye screening, treatment, and distribution of medical drugs and eyeglasses, dental care services, and other medical services to residents from across the local government.

Speaking at the launch, Friday explained that the initiative aims to enhance access to essential eye care services for individuals of all ages, particularly those who are unable to afford treatment.

He said the screenings is intended to identify a broad spectrum of eye conditions, including glaucoma, cataracts, diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, and amblyopia.

The local government chairman stressed the importance of regular eye examinations, not only in preventing visual impairment but also in identifying underlying health issues early.

The chairman expressed his gratitude to the Governor Sheriff Oborevwori-led administration for affording him the opportunity to serve the people of the Isoko South Local Government Area.

He also extended his appreciation to the Omiwa Foundation for their partnership, which he characterized as timely and impactful, particularly for residents with limited financial resources.

Some of the beneficiaries commended the programme as a remarkable development and urged the local government to consider implementing similar initiatives quarterly to address the growing healthcare needs of the population.

The programme is anticipated to benefit in excess of 2,000 residents.
