"I’m not planning on resigning from Man united," Amorim confirms
Manchester United‘s head coach Ruben Amorim has stated that he has no plans to leave the club until otherwise.

Following the recent Premier League loss to West Ham on Sunday, Amorim expressed that if he was unable to resolve the club’s issues before the next season, then they should seek someone else for the role.

This has led to speculation that the previous Sporting Lisbon manager is starting to understand the magnitude of the challenge he faces.

Nevertheless, during a UEFA event held at Old Trafford to discuss the upcoming Europa League final against Tottenham on May 21, he clarified that this was not the case.

“I’m definitely not planning on resigning,” he confirmed.

“I have a solid plan of action and am fully aware of the team’s challenges.

“Since taking this position, I’ve consistently emphasized maintaining standards. I cannot overlook the results the team has been producing, particularly in the Premier League, and remain silent or evade responsibility.

“What I’m conveying is that we must perform well, or else the club’s leadership will make changes. That’s simply how it goes.”

While Amorim has led United to a European final for only the third time since 2011, the team has struggled tremendously in the Premier League.

Heading into the second-to-last round of matches, they stand in 16th place, likely facing their most disappointing season since the relegation battle of 1973-74.

In 2025, United secured four league victories, three of which came against teams that were relegated. Their only league triumphs since beating Fulham on January 26 were against Ipswich and Leicester.
