The Inspector-General of Police, Dr. Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, alongside top defense officials, paid a heartfelt condolence visit to Mrs. Mariya Lagbaja, widow of the late Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Taoheed Lagbaja, at the family’s official residence in Abuja. This touching visit underscores the nation’s profound respect and admiration for Lt. Gen. Lagbaja’s legacy in safeguarding Nigeria’s security.
IGP Egbetokun praised Lt. Gen. Lagbaja as a “dedicated patriot” who devoted his life to combating insurgency and terrorism, calling his passing a monumental loss that has left a void in Nigeria’s defense landscape. He was accompanied by the Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, CON, the Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Mohammed Matawalle, MON, Chief of Defence Staff Gen. Christopher Musa, other service chiefs, and senior officers from the Defence Headquarters.
