The management of Ibom Air has announced the resumption of flight operations to the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu.
It would be recalled that the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, was shut one month ago by the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) to enable maintenance works to be carried out on the airport’s runway.
This decision was made to ensure passenger safety and the modernisation of facilities at the airport.
A statement signed by the Manager Communications of Ibom Air, Anie Essienette and made available to journalists in Uyo, on Tuesday, disclosed that the airline will resume flight operations to the Enugu airport from May 4, 2025.
The statement reads: “Following the reopening of the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Ibom Air is pleased to announce the resumption of its flight operations to and from Enugu, effective Sunday, May 4, 2025.

“This development comes after the issuance of an official notice to airmen on April 28, 2025, confirming that runway 08/26 at the Enugu Airport has resumed normal operations.
“Consequently, all scheduled Ibom Air flights to and from Enugu from May 4 onwards have been reinstated.”
The airline, therefore, directed its customer service unit to rebook passengers to Akanu Ibiam Airport immediately.
“Our Customer Service Team is actively reaching out to affected passengers to facilitate rebooking and alternative travel arrangements where necessary.
“Ibom Air sincerely appreciates the patience and understanding of our esteemed passengers during the temporary disruption,” the airline added.
