Two suspected members of a kidnapping syndicate were arrested on Friday, by local hunters in Owo, the headquarters of Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State.
The arrest, which has sparked widespread attention, was captured in a viral video posted by a Facebook user, Ogbeni OB Sugar.
In the two-minute and 41-second clip, the suspects are seen tied up, while being interrogated by residents.
The questioning revolved around their operations, the identity of their gang leader, and their activities in the area.

Items allegedly recovered from the suspects include, firearms, cutlasses, cans of beer, and energy drinks. One of the suspects, appearing distressed, was heard pleading for water during the interrogation.
According to a resident who spoke anonymously to our correspondent, the arrest was made by local hunters who raided a suspected hideout in the forest.
“It was hunters that arrested them yesterday when they stormed their hideouts in the bush. Some of them (kidnappers) ran away while the two were arrested and brought to the town,” the source said.
Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Olayinka Ayanlade, confirmed that the state police command is aware of the incident and has launched an investigation.
“I saw the video too, and we have commenced an investigation into it,” Ayanlade stated.
