Armed men masquerading as operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) stormed White Hill Hotel on Shiroro Road, Chanchaga Local Government Area of Niger State, abducting ten unsuspecting guests.
The shocking incident, which unfolded at approximately 4:58 AM on February 27, has sent shockwaves through the region. According to reports from Zagazola Makama, a publication specializing in counter-insurgency coverage of the Lake Chad region, the assailants arrived under the guise of EFCC personnel conducting an official operation.
Eyewitnesses revealed that the gunmen strategically disabled the hotel’s CCTV cameras before moving from room to room, forcefully dragging their victims into waiting vehicles and vanishing into the darkness. The brazen attack has sparked widespread panic, with many questioning the rising insecurity in the state.

Authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant, assuring the public that security agencies are actively working to unravel the mystery behind the abductions. The Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) of the State Intelligence Department (SID) confirmed that an investigation is underway to track down the perpetrators and rescue the kidnapped individuals.
As fear grips Niger State, the daring impersonation of a top government agency has raised concerns about the audacity of criminals operating unchecked. Who were these armed men? Where have they taken their victims? And how could a heavily disguised gang execute such a sophisticated operation without detection?
Security forces are under immense pressure to provide answers as Nigerians demand swift action to bring the culprits to justice and prevent further attacks.
