Gov. Zulum donates N30m to family of slain army colonel
Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, has donated N30 million to the family of late Lieutenant Colonel Thomas Ebisingha Alari, who was killed in the fight against Boko Haram insurgents in the Timbuktu Triangle.

Gov. Zulum personally presented the donation to the officer’s wife at the weekend in Maiduguri, offering his condolences on behalf of the government and people of the state.

“Yesterday, we sent a high-level state government delegation to the funeral. However, I felt the need to personally extend my condolences,” Gov. Zulum stated.

Acknowledging the sacrifices of fallen soldiers, the governor assured of continuous support for their families.

“We are also presenting a N30 million donation to help his immediate family purchase a house, as I was informed that Lt. Col. Alari did not own one.

“Apart from this, we will continue to support the families of our fallen heroes who have put their lives on the line for our country,” he added.

The presentation was attended by senior military officers, including the Theatre Commander ‘Operation Hadin Kai’, Major General Waidi Shuaibu , and the Sector 2 Commander, Major General Chieiebere Ejika, and several government officials.
