The Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf has sent six names to the state House of Assembly for screening and confirmation as commissioners and members of the state cabinet.
The nominees include Shehu Sagagi (formerly the chief of staff to the governor), Dr. Dahiru Hashim, Ibrahim Wayya, Dr. Isma’il Maraya, Gaddafi Shehu and Abdulkadir AbdulSalam.
The governor’s letter was read by the Speaker, Jibrin Falgore during Monday’s plenary.
After careful deliberation, the House agreed to invite the six nominees to appear before it for screening on Tuesday by 10.00am.

Gov.Yusuf had announced a cabinet reshuffle last week in which the governor scrapped the office of the chief of staff, dropped the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Baffa Bichi, based on health grounds and also dropped five commissioners.
Spokesperson to the governor, Sanusi Bature said the rejigging of the governor’s cabinet was to enhance administrative performance and political retool.
