Chairman of the Labour Party (LP) faction loyal to the embattled National Chairman, Julius Abure in Abia State, Prince Ndubueze, has claimed that foundation members of the party have been shut out by Governor Alex Otti.
Ndubueze, who made the allegation on Thursday, alleged that the political family of Gov. Otti, Abia Arise now enjoys the fruit of LP’s victory in the state.
The pro-Abure LP chairman who said an enlarged closed-door meeting of the party was held in the state, claimed Gov. Otti and former presidential candidate of the party in the 2023 general elections, Peter Obi, are engaging in anti-party activities.

Ndubueze alleged that everything about the state government is built around Abia Arise as according to him, not a single commissioner was picked from the LP despite the role the party played in securing Gov. Otti’s victory in 2023.
He further said the recent philanthropic journeys of Obi in parts of the north were embarked upon without consultation with the LP, arguing that Obi is not doing anything to unify the Labour Party family.
On the Supreme Court ruling which sacked Mr. Abure as national chairman, Ndubueze claimed that the ruling did not remove Abure from office.
