Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has announced an increase in the monthly allowance for National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members serving in the state, raising it from ₦20,000 to ₦30,000.
The announcement was made during the official opening ceremony of the 2025 Batch B Stream 1 orientation course held at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Damare, Girei Local Government Area.
Gov. Fintiri, speaking to hundreds of newly deployed corps members, said the increment widely dubbed the “Fintiri Allawee” was in recognition of their dedication, discipline, and contributions to the development of the state.
“This increase is a show of appreciation for your selfless service. We recognize your contributions and want you to know that you are valued,” he said, earning resounding applause from the corps members.
Wearing an NYSC uniform presented to him by previous corps members, Gov. Fintiri officially declared the orientation open and conferred honorary citizenship of Adamawa State on all the incoming corps members for the duration of their service year.
He urged the corps members to embrace the cultural diversity of the state, assuring them of their safety and the government’s commitment to their overall well-being.
“Your security is our top priority, and we will continue to provide an enabling environment for your personal and professional development,” he said.

Reinforcing his administration’s commitment to youth development, the governor also pledged to construct a new state-of-the-art NYSC orientation camp in Damare to accommodate future corps members.
The event featured the formal administration of the oath of allegiance by the Chief Judge of Adamawa State, Justice Hafsat Abduraman, officially marking the beginning of the corps members’ national service year.
Earlier, the NYSC State Coordinator, Mrs. Caroline Chinedu, commended Gov. Fintiri for his continuous support of the scheme, particularly the regular payment of the state-funded allowance to corps members.
She encouraged the corps members to immerse themselves fully in the orientation programme and strive to make meaningful impacts in their host communities.
“The orientation camp is more than just a place to serve it’s a catalyst for growth. I encourage you to learn, lead, and leave a legacy,” she said.
