Gen. Musa only foreign dignitary at Cameroon’s independence anniversary

The Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, was the only foreign dignitary at the 53rd National Day celebrations of the Republic of Cameroon, held in Yaounde on Tuesday, May 20, 2025.

According to media reports, the occasion, known as ‘Unity Day’, was centered around the theme: “Army and nation united for a Cameroon turned towards peace and prosperity.”

The event was attended by President Paul Biya, government officials, members of the diplomatic community, and Cameroonians coming together to commemorate the independence anniversary.

The festivities included an impressive array of activities, such as military exhibitions, displays of defense equipment, solidarity treks, and ceremonial parades.

These events highlighted Cameroon’s unity, strength, and commitment to national development.

A particularly memorable moment was the outstanding performance by the Nigerian Armed Forces contingent, which was honoured to be the first and only foreign presentation at the ceremony.
