First Nigerian Hospital pioneers groundbreaking prostate removal technology
Eleos Specialist Hospital, based in Umuahia, has made history as the first medical facility in Nigeria to introduce Bipolar Enucleation of the Prostate, a cutting-edge procedure that eliminates the need for traditional open surgery, regardless of prostate size.

Dr. P.E. Ngwu, a Consultant Urologist and Laparoscopic Surgeon at the hospital, explained that while older techniques such as Holmium and Thulium Laser Enucleation have been used in the past, Bipolar Enucleation offers a more advanced and effective alternative. Unlike conventional endoscopic methods, this innovative technology ensures that even patients with the largest prostates can avoid invasive surgery.

This revolutionary medical advancement is set to transform prostate healthcare, offering patients a less invasive, cost-effective, and highly efficient solution.
