Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa state, has announced plans to evaluate the performance of local government chairmen as part of his administration’s two-year anniversary review.
The governor made this disclosure while receiving a Sallah homage from local council chairmen, led by the Adamawa State Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Engineer Suleiman Ahmed Gangkuba, at the Government House in Yola.
Addressing the delegation, Governor Fintiri urged the chairmen to enhance their governance efforts, stressing the importance of effective service delivery to their communities.
He also reaffirmed his commitment to touring the state to assess development needs and ensure they are adequately addressed.

The governor further emphasized the necessity of grassroots political engagement, stating that his successor would emerge from the local level with substantial experience in governance.
In his response, ALGON Chairman Engineer Suleiman Gangkuba said the visit was to extend Eid-el-Fitr greetings to the governor and express their continued support for his administration.
He commended Fintiri’s leadership, describing him as a mentor and pledging unwavering loyalty from the local government leadership.
