FIFA revokes Club World Cup titles from Man City, Real Madrid, Man Utd

FIFA has officially revoked the Club World Cup titles from Manchester United, Liverpool, and Manchester City.

The global football governing body has declared that these three Premier League clubs, along with other former champions like Real Madrid and Barcelona, will now be referred to as ‘FIFA Intercontinental Champions.’

According to reports, FIFA has recognized Chelsea as the inaugural winners of the competition.

As a result, Chelsea is now the only team entitled to the title of ‘world champions.’

Enzo Maresca’s squad defeated Paris Saint-Germain 3-0 in last week’s final to claim the 2025 edition.

This year’s tournament featured an expanded format with 32 teams from six confederations participating.

The Club World Cup is set to return in 2029, with PSG, Pyramids, Al Hilal, and Cruz Azul already qualified after winning their respective continental championships last season.
