FG launches youth confab platform to empower young Nigerians in nation-building

The Federal Government has officially unveiled the digital platform for the highly anticipated Nigeria Youth Conference, popularly known as the National Youth Confab.

The announcement, made on Monday by the Minister of Youth Development, Ayode Olawande, signals a bold move to place youth at the heart of Nigeria’s policy-making and developmental agenda. According to Olawande, the Youth Confab is designed to be inclusive, non-partisan, and youth-led, ensuring that the voices of young Nigerians are not only heard but actively shape the country’s future.

With the theme “Next Gen Nigeria: Crafting Solutions, Owning the Future,” the conference aims to mobilize a new generation of problem-solvers and leaders. The just-launched portal will serve as the central hub for delegate registration, interactive engagement, and real-time updates throughout the Confab. Participants will have the opportunity to submit ideas, propose policy recommendations, and track ongoing developments, creating a dynamic platform for national dialogue.

“This is more than just a conference,” said Olawande. “It’s a generational turning point, a national movement, and a bold call to action for every young Nigerian who wants to take ownership of their future.”

The vision for the Confab was first introduced by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during his Independence Day address in October 2024. To drive its execution, the President inaugurated a 44-member Planning Committee in March 2025 at the State House in Abuja, setting the tone for what many are calling a historic initiative to bridge the gap between Nigeria’s youth and its policymakers.

The National Youth Confab is expected to spotlight innovation, foster collaboration, and inspire transformative ideas that align with the nation’s growth goals. It also underscores the government’s recognition of youth as critical stakeholders in the socio-economic and political evolution of Nigeria.
