The committee will be led by Abubakar Bagudu, the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, with co-chairs from the Ministries of Finance, Health and Social Welfare, Education, and Women Affairs.

Their duties will include assessing the progress of the programme’s implementation, evaluating disbursement-linked indicators, reviewing national priorities and monitoring strategies, and addressing any challenges the programme may face.

Bagudu emphasized that the ministry’s role is to coordinate the execution of the government’s national development plans.

He added that the purpose of the committee’s formation is to create a clear roadmap for the effective implementation of the HOPE programme, stating further that “we are not competing; we are complementing each other to advance the HOPE project.”
