Anna Estevao, the lawyer representing Diddy, appears to suggest that Cassie may have thought her alleged rape in 2018 could be linked to bipolar disorder.
This topic was introduced in court on Friday, when Estevao questioned Cassie about her statements to investigators regarding Diddy’s purported assault, after they discussed ending their relationship over dinner.
Estevao inquired what Cassie shared with investigators, to which she responded that Diddy was acting “pleasant yet oddly” at dinner and was “not in his right frame of mind,” noting that when she requested he stop the assault, he did not reply.

The defense attorney then directly asked Cassie if she informed federal authorities that Diddy’s actions that evening could be linked to his bipolar disorder. Cassie replied, “I suppose so.”
This marks the initial occasion on which Diddy’s defense has raised the issue of bipolarity, prompting curiosity about their intentions for bringing it to light.
In a prior interview with Playboy, Diddy had referenced bipolar disorder, discussing his experience with therapy following his breakup with Jennifer Lopez years ago.
He remarked to the publication: “People have labeled me as bipolar I’m not; I merely experience extreme mood fluctuations.”
