The Delta State Government has announced the commencement of regular impact assessments for all policies and programmes implemented under its reintroduced Service Compact initiative, popularly known as Servicom.
This development was disclosed by Chief Funkekeme Solomon, Senior Policy Adviser to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, during a high-level engagement with nodal officers across all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) in Asaba. He emphasized that the revamped Servicom framework would include periodic evaluations to ensure performance targets are met and service delivery remains timely, effective, and people-centered.
According to Solomon, the new model mandates quarterly monitoring meetings and a shift in reporting structure. Nodal officers are now required to submit their reports directly to the Servicom Unit instead of their departmental heads. This, he explained, would allow for a more centralized and objective assessment of public service performance and policy effectiveness.
“The governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, is deeply committed to elevating service delivery standards in Delta State,” Solomon stated. “Servicom must be more than a slogan. It should be a living framework that allows us to track progress, identify lapses, and realign strategies to ensure government initiatives deliver real impact.”

Highlighting the importance of accountability in public administration, the Senior Policy Adviser stressed that any policy found to be underperforming or obsolete must be flagged by nodal officers for immediate review. He also charged them with the responsibility of continuously evaluating the efficiency, responsiveness, and timeliness of services provided by government officials.
Solomon directed that all Servicom officers must submit monthly reports to his office, assuring that their feedback would be treated with urgency and followed up with the appropriate authorities. He also acknowledged the operational challenges faced by nodal officers and gave assurances that these would be addressed as funding becomes available.
Accompanying Solomon at the meeting were Mrs. Uche Onwusanya, Director of Servicom and Labour Relations, and Mr. Pius Mordi, Special Assistant on Policy.
This renewed focus on transparency and measurable outcomes signals Delta State’s drive to set a new benchmark for public service efficiency in Nigeria; one where citizens’ expectations are met with proactive governance and continuous policy evaluation.
