The Golden State Warriors’ victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves in the NBA playoffs was marred by Stephen Curry’s hamstring injury.
The 37-year-old player exited the game before half -time in the opening match of the series after experiencing discomfort during the Warriors’ 99-88 triumph in Minneapolis.
After making a defensive move, the two-time MVP grabbed the back of his left leg, initially attempting to continue before indicating he required a substitution.
In Curry’s absence, Buddy Hield, Jimmy Butler, and Draymond Green collectively carried the scoring load, contributing 62 points altogether.
It appears Curry will miss at least game two, while the Warriors await the scan results.
“We’re definitely preparing as if he won’t be available for game two, but we still don’t have confirmation,” stated Warriors coach Steve Kerr.
“With a hamstring injury, it’s difficult to envision him playing.
“I spoke with him at halftime; he’s understandably devastated. The team rallied and performed excellently, but we’re all worried about Steph.

Tyrese Haliburton nailed a game-winning three-pointer, leading the Indiana Pacers to a stunning victory over the top-seeded Cleveland Cavaliers in the second game of their playoff series.
The Pacers had been behind for the majority of the contest until a remarkable fourth quarter, during which they overwhelmed the Cavaliers 36-21.
The Cavaliers, who topped the Eastern Conference, once held a 20-point advantage.
Yet, after a determined comeback in the closing minutes, Haliburton delivered an impressive step-back three-pointer that secured a 2-0 series lead for his team.
Aaron Nesmith and Myles Turner were the leading scorers for the Pacers, each netting 23 points, while Haliburton contributed 20 points of his own.
