Coco Gauff achieved her first singles title at the French Open by coming from behind to beat world number one Aryna Sabalenka in a thrilling final played under tough conditions.
The American, who was the second seed, secured a 6-7 (5-7), 6-2, 6-4 victory after an intense match between the top two players on the WTA Tour.
This marks the second Grand Slam win for the 21-year-old, adding to her US Open title earned in 2023, where she also defeated Sabalenka from Belarus.
Gauff overcame a rocky start where she fell behind by two breaks but eventually found her groove, taking advantage of many errors made by the 27-year-old Sabalenka.

Strong winds made serving difficult during the first two sets, resulting in both players breaking each other’s serve 12 times in an exciting match that wasn’t always high-quality.
Having lost in the final last year, Gauff quickly settled into the deciding third set, gaining an early break and maintaining her composure to serve out for victory.
She faced another break point before clinching her second match point and celebrated as she fell back onto the clay when Sabalenka sent a forehand wide.
With her parents Candi and Corey joyfully dancing in the stands, Gauff shared a warm hug with Sabalenka before rushing off the court to celebrate with her family.
